Happy Easter!

Happy Easter!

Many thanks to Caitriona from Wholesome Ireland for her tip about the Easter Egg moulds in Tesco this week. We picked some up together with white and milk chocolate.

The eggs were really easy to make. Just melt the chocolate in a bowl over some hot water, and then use a pastry brush to paint a layer of chocolate on the inside of each egg mould.

I painted on the milk chocolate first and put it in the fridge to set for about 10 minutes. Meanwhile I melted the white chocolate and then when the milk chocolate had set, I painted a layer inside it.

I popped the completed eggs into the freezer for an hour to set them fully. The finished eggs popped out easily from the silicone mould. According to the instructions that came with the mould, you should then melt the leftover chocolate and use it to stick the two halves of each egg together. Hmmm. Leftover chocolate – that’s not a concept we’re familiar with around here! So we had to make do with placing the shells together.

We’ll just have to remember for next time!

Happy Easter everyone!
