Wednesday Window: Discovering Lego

Wednesday Window: Discovering Lego

Last Christmas, Charlie’s sister gave Little Man a gift of some Star Wars Lego books, one of which came with over 200 Lego pieces and instructions to make not one, but eight different Star Wars vehicles. We put it away in the attic, thinking to take it out in a few years time when Little Man is old enough for it.

But this week, he’s been absolutely fascinated by a little Lego kit that he picked out in the Art and Hobby shop, so we decided to raid the attic for the Star Wars kit and see how he liked it. To say he loves it is an understatement.

Helping me look for just the right piece, and watching our creation take shape as we follow the instructions. And then, when it’s done, there’s a whole space ship, or better still a robot, to play with. “Can we make a new robot now?” was his first question to me this morning. He didn’t even ask about breakfast!

I always loved Lego as a child, so I’m hoping this is the start of years of Lego creations in our house!

I’ve come to accept that I’ll never be wordless and I’ll never manage a true Wordless Wednesday post, so I’ve introduced my Wednesday Window posts instead. Wednesday Window offers a little snapshot of life in our house this week. The post contains a photo or photos taken this week and a sentence or three about it! If you have a Wednesday Window of your own that you’d like to share, be sure to leave a link in the comments below.

  1. So lego is a good idea for birthday presents this year? 🙂

    • Lego, robots, dinosaurs, aliens – your options are wide open! He has a lot of “interests”!!

  2. This looks amaze balls! I am looking forward to this stage. I remember spending hours building lego projects myself. I’m really enjoying watching Baby S get into his toys. We’ve a great fisher price garage that he got for his birthday that seems to hold no end of new ways of playing for him 🙂
