All aboard!

All aboard!

There was a great deal on nappies in my local SuperValu today, so I came home with a couple of Mega-sized boxes. Of course, Little Man wanted to play with the boxes immediately – but after our success last month with the Clever Box Club kit, we were feeling a bit more creative than usual today, so we made him wait a few minutes – and we decided to turn one of the boxes into a train. It was surprisingly easy.

All we needed was some Sellotape, a few sheets of coloured paper, an empty toilet roll, and a marker.

First we taped one of the side flaps in place to make the front of our "engine". And we part-cut the two long side flaps and bent them inwards to make the front window. Then we taped them in place too.

The rest was easy. We just took sheets of coloured paper, and covered the box, before drawing on the wheels and cutting a white circle and drawing on a face. Finally we covered an empty toilet roll, and attached it as the chimney.

For a finishing touch, we stuffed the chimney with a little kitchen towel for steam.

All aboard! Choo Choo!

    • Oh he loved the train. It was Mammy taking photos that was annoying him!

  9. That’s a great idea  *runs away to try and find boxes*     Don’t you just hate it though when they are all smiles until you point the camera at them!    Thanks for the link.
