Pregnancy: Week 14

I wrote this post in late September when I was fourteen weeks pregnant, and starting to notice my expanding belly! Now that I’ve made the official announcement, I’m finally publishing and sharing it.

The expansion continues! My belly is a little rounder each week now. I weighed myself this morning though, and I am down 2-3lbs on when I got pregnant. I assume it’s because I kept up the healthy eating once I got pregnant.

I haven’t started exercising again yet. I know I should. But I’m out of the habit of it, and in the evenings when it comes to a choice between an early night or some exercise, the early night is still winning hands down!

Plus we’ve had a lot of distractions this week. Little Man turned three years old, so we had a toddler birthday party to organise. Wow – we’ve never had so many people in our little house at once before. Eight or nine toddlers, and their parents, plus plenty of sweet treats equals chaotic fun for a few hours.

We did most of the cleanup the evening after the party, but I took the following day off work to finish it off and restore the house to normality! I knew that otherwise it would never get done! How things change when you become a parent! If you told me a few years ago that I’d use a day’s holidays primarily for housework, and feel like it was a great productive day at the end of it, I’d never have believed you!

This week we also started to mention the baby to Little Man. We didn’t sit down and have a big chat with him or anything, but we’ve just been dropping it into conversation with him. He seems open to the idea, although he’s adamant that he wants a little sister. All his closest friends have little sisters you see, and he’s been feeling a bit left out!

Funny thing is that Charlie and I are still convinced that we’re having a little boy because the pregnancy seems so similar to my pregnancy on Little Man. I guess we’ll have to wait and see who’s right!
