Me no go creche
Oh dear. Back to work tomorrow. Why do work weeks drag and holidays fly by? It’s so unfair!
This morning we decided that we’d better prepare Little Man for the fact that our play days are over and it’s back to reality tomorrow.
“Mammy and Daddy have work tomorrow Little Man, and you get to go and play in creche!”
“Me no go crèche.”
“But all your friends will be there – don’t you want to see your friends?”
“Me no go crèche.”
“You’ll have so much fun – you can do colouring and sing songs and play with play dough…”
“Me no go crèche.”
“I know you’re sad that holidays are over – but Mammy and Daddy have to go to work, so you have to go to crèche.”
“Me no go crèche.”
Hmmm. At least he’s consistent.
Can’t say I don’t understand where he’s coming from. No doubt when the alarm goes off at 6am, I’ll be hitting it while muttering “Me no go work…”
🙂 I sympathize. Tomorrow I’m back to work too. Over a week away from daycare and our regular routine. I’ve been trying to mention the various teacher and toddler names with inflections of enthusiasm (Tomorrow you get to see Eve! Soon you’ll see Rio!) but I’m not sure if a) he understands and b) he buys it. 🙂
I’m thinking it’s B Tammy! 🙂
Ah bless him, hope his return to creche wasn’t too traumatic
There were a few tears while he was getting dressed, but when it actually came time to go to creche, he was fine. 🙂
