He looks just like his Daddy!
Someone sent me a great article this week called Fact or Fiction: Do Babies Resemble their Fathers more than their Mothers?
According to the article, recent studies have shown that the widely-accepted idea that babies tend to look more like their fathers than their mothers is false. Hmmm. I’m not so sure about that. I have conducted a study of my own. I’m not sure how scientific it is, because it involves exactly one baby, one father, and one mother – Little Man, Charlie, and me respectively.
Right, so first we have this picture of Little Man and his Daddy.
Next we have a picture of Little Man and his Mammy (that’s me of course!).
When I look at both pictures, I can see bits of both of us in Little Man, but I’ll be honest – I had to look hard to find a photo where he even looked remotely like me. In photo after photo, he looks just like his Daddy. Or correction, he looks just like his Daddy did when he was a baby. Maybe that’s where the researchers went wrong. Maybe they should have started by comparing baby photos to see where the real similarities lie?
What do you think?
I think in the photo with Charlie he looks more like you but there are plenty of photos where he looks just like his dad. ie. christmas jumpers

You can add me to your study too. Littlest is def. more like his father. Interestingly I read that they are supposed to look like their fathers early on to nurture the human instinct for the father to bond and to prove it’s his! As they grow they lose this and become more like mum a mix. Sounds like a pile of pants to me but actually rings true for us!
I remember reading that as well while I was pregnant, and wondering if it was a load of pseudo-science, along the lines of “girls prefer pink because it helped our cavewomen ancestors gather berries”. But it has proven quite true for us as well.
