Flashback Fest #1
To my shock, I realised recently that I have over 450 blog posts at this stage. But many of those were written in the months when I was building this blog, and so the numbers of people who saw them were quite limited. I feel bad for those posts that they’ve been lost in the blog archives, so I’ve decided to dust them off and roll them out once a week for a Flashback Fest.
I figure that I’m not alone in this though, so I’ve decided to make this a linky, and give other bloggers a chance to dust off their posts from last year and link them up through here. Whether you want to share one post, or share all your posts for that week, that’s absolutely up to you.
Flashback Fest: March 30th to April 5th 2011
So what was I writing about this week last year? Seems I had a lot to say that week.
March 30th 2011: We’re almost famous!
Little Man and I were featured in Image magazine, discussing Baby-Led Weaning. It was very exciting!
March 30th 2011: Our Baby Led Weaning Experience
Inspired by our magazine interview, I wrote a detailed account of our experiences with Baby Led Weaning. We didn’t adhere fully to the weaning method – we still did some purées with Little Man, but it’s a weaning method I’d probably follow more closely if we ever have a second child.
April 1, 2011: Macaroni Mayhem
When I’m cooking anything – but especially pasta and potatoes, I have a tendency to make WAY too much. So this macaroni mayhem dish is a great way for using up anything extra I’ve cooked.
April 2, 2011: I’m gonna catch you
This is one of my all-time favourite photos of Little Man, capturing a great moment between him and his Auntie Julie!
April 3, 2011: Happy Mother’s Day
I guess it was Mother’s Day this time last year. And in this post, I learned that Mother’s Day was originally intended to be a day completely free of commercialism. Oops.
April 4, 2011: Grimm’s Rumpelstiltskin
This review is of Grimm’s Rumpelstiltskin, one of our favourite storybook apps on the iPad. This app has actually been updated since I wrote the original review, and there is now an entire range of storybook apps by this developer. Well worth checking out.
April 5, 2011: I’ve got a horse outside
In which Little Man gets his first horsie. It’s yellow and it’s made of bouncy rubber. Oh and Little Man has since christened it “Donkey.” Oddly enough we were just playing with “Donkey” tonight. 🙂
April 6, 2011: Choosing a Childcare Option
We spent a lot of time researching childcare options for Little Man, and I learned a lot during that process. In this post, I tried to share what I’d learned, including questions that you should consider asking when researching a childcare option.
Great idea! Off to have a look at last years posts now 🙂
