Check your car seat!
Prompted by the RSA safety campaign at the beginning of last month, we got our car seat checked. We went to our local Halfords, where they offer a Fit Rite service, and to our horror, the seat wasn’t fitted correctly. Apparently the type of belt buckles used in our car can open on impact because of the force of the car seat, unless they are routed through an alternative installation route in the car seat.
I thought I was so careful to fit the car seat correctly – I watched a couple of YouTube videos, and spent about 30 minutes getting it fitted securely. We only asked Halfords to check it out of curiosity more than anything else! I’m so glad we did. At least now, we can rest assured that the little man is safe and secure in his seat when we’re driving.
