A terrible mistake
I think I made a terrible mistake yesterday. I got carried away with all this talk of Lent and “giving things up” on the radio, and I decided to give up chocolate and crisps and desserts from now until Easter. What was I thinking?
What’s worse is that for the past week I knew Lent was coming, so I may have overdone it a teensy little bit on the chocolate front. So the withdrawal is that little bit worse than it needed to be this week! At 3pm today I was seriously craving a bar of chocolate – a lovely Twix, or an Aero, or maybe even a Terry’s chocolate orange bar. Yummy.
Oh well, I’ve made a commitment now. What’s it? Two days down, only forty or so to go!
So am I the only one regretting any overenthusiastic Lenten commitments today? 🙂
At least you didn’t give up wine too!!
I did consider it Carol – but then I realised that that would be too much! 🙂
But you know Sundays don’t count as part of the 40 days 😉
Oh no! Don’t be giving me excuses Marguerite!
I know how you feel. I did the same thing. It gets easier by the end of the second week
Have decided to give up coffee after running out of it for 2 days at home & getting 2 day headache!! Was thinking of giving it up before Christmas but we got a gift of an amazing coffee machine & got into the habit of having a double shot every morning. It’s going to be a toughie!!! *shake* Bet you’ll end up baking loads…can you eat stuff you’ve made yourself?
Ok…all desserts?? Really? Flapjacks & teabrack aren’t exciting enough to be considered desserts right? So get making them!
