That was fun!

That was fun!

Last night was our first ever Boardgame Club meetup – I think it’s fair to say it was a success. We started the night with Cranium, which is always a great party game providing everyone is willing to act a little silly every now and again.

We played in two teams – boys against girls. And of course the girls won – TWICE. After our second resounding win, the boys didn’t seem that keen on losing playing a third time, so we decided to try a different game to see if they’d have more luck.

We pulled out Angry Birds – the boardgame version. Now this is a game we picked up ages ago – and we regularly play it with Little Man, using his blocks to make towers, which we then knock down of course.

But Charlie and I had never actually played it as a proper game before. We had to get a little inventive when it came to the rules last night because we misplaced them ages ago and neither of us had a clue how the boardgame version of the game is supposed to be play. We devised a set of rules that everyone agreed on though and then we got started building towers based on the pictures on the game cards, and attempting to knock them down. It’s much harder than it looks!

In the end, the boys won. Hey we had to let them win something, right?! Great fun though – I think we’ll be adding Angry Birds to our party game list. 🙂
