Last month I received a Snooze Shade for review, but I was beginning to despair that I’d ever get a chance to use it. Then what do you know – the sun came out last week!
Not one to waste a moment of sunshine I’ve been getting out and about as much as possible. With a two month old baby, normally this would involve various contortions with a sun parasol on her pram to try to keep her in the shade. Or I have been known to drape a blanket over the hood to create shade. Neither of these is ideal though – the parasol has to be readjusted every time you change direction, and it can get really hot under the blanket.
The Snooze Shade is made from double-layered mesh fabric, and it provides UV50 protection. The mesh fabric is breathable so baby doesn’t overheat beneath it.
It’s easy to attach to the stroller. It has several Velcro straps, so I can attach it to the handle of the car seat or the frame of the pram as necessary. So far I’ve used it on the car seat alone, the car seat on the travel system, and the pram on the travel system. Little Woman is still too small for the stroller configuration so I haven’t tried that yet, but I’m sure it would work just fine.
In the centre of the Snooze Shade is a zipper that allows you to look in on baby, or even allow a little light in if baby is awake. It’s very handy.
I’ve also found another surprising use for the Snooze Shade. We were out in our allotment in the bright sunshine when Little Woman wanted to feed. There was nowhere shady around to sit and feed her and I was worried she’d burn. So I used the Snooze Shade to cover her while she fed and it worked perfectly – privacy and sun-screening all in one.
I received a Snooze Shade for the purposes of this review. However, I did not receive any further compensation and my opinions as always are my own.
