Product Review: MikaB Teething Jewellery

Product Review: MikaB Teething Jewellery

A few weeks ago, I was sent some MikaB teething jewellery for review – a pendant, a necklace, and a bracelet.

Teething jewellery I hear you ask? What exactly is that?

According to MikaB:
MikaB teething jewellery is safe for babies to chew on and looks great on mums. It is made of non-toxic, food grade silicone, the same kind of silicone babies soothers and bottle nipples are made of. My jewellery is colourful, fashionable and will look great not only on mums but also on aunties, grannies and big sisters. It has a breakaway clasp for added safety. It can be easily washed with soap and warm water.

I was immediately impressed with the quality of the pieces. The pendant and the necklace beads feel solid and chunky. They have the same texture as a good quality teething toy and the bright colours are very attractive to a baby.

There is a breakaway clasp at the back of the pendant and the necklace. And on the necklace, each bead is knotted on either side, so even if the ribbon breaks you don’t have to worry about the beads falling off causing potential choking hazards.

Over the past few weeks, I think I’ve gotten the most wear out of the necklace. It looks particularly well against a white top because of the bright red colour.

The bracelet also looks well but I didn’t get as much wear out of it because I found it worked better as a teether if I took it off. And once I gave it to Little Woman she didn’t want to give it back. The width of the bracelet and its circular shape make it ideal for little hands to grasp.

For teething purposes, the pendant worked the best. Again it is easy for little hands to grip and I could see that chewing on it gave lots of relief for sore gums. Better still it’s an easy distraction for baby if you find yourself stuck somewhere for longer than expected and you need something to keep the little one entertained.

I think these pieces of jewellery will be getting a lot of wear around here until all of those teeth are through. You can find MikaB teething jewellery for sale at
