Pregnancy: Week 30

Pregnancy: Week 30

There’s something about hitting the 30 week mark. It really seems like the home stretch. There’s no ignoring it – we’re going to have a new baby very soon!

And even if I was ignoring it, other people certainly aren’t. At work, I had five different people ask me when I was finishing up on the same day!! Clearly I suddenly look very pregnant. 🙂

I had another appointment in the Midwife Led Unit today. I met a different midwife this time around. I really like my appointments there – it’s just such a relaxing atmosphere. We chatted away as she checked my blood pressure – all normal, and my urine sample – all normal. And then she listened to baby’s heartbeat – perfect. Before measuring my bump – also perfect. “Bang on dates” she said. Me and my growth spurt babies. I think that this little one has done all her catching up in the space of just a couple of weeks. Of course I’ve been feeling so tired and so stretched that I knew that!

  1. I remember these apts so well, so relaxing in the mlu. Different world in comparison to the normal routine apts under the care of consultants. Your week by week account of pregnancy is putting the longing on me to go again, even tho I hated pregnancy. Just the excitement of whats on the way is so thrilling.

    • Oh be careful Ady! Those ideas are dangerous! Before you know it there’s another one on the way and you’re wondering what you’ve gotten yourself into again! 🙂

    • Right now it’s more a case of panicking about how I’m going to get everything done before I go Jane – but I’m sure I’ll enjoy being off. Hopefully I’ll get at least a few days to relax once I finish up before this baby arrives. 🙂
