Pregnancy: Week 19

Pregnancy: Week 19

I really hope I’m not jinxing myself by writing this, but this pregnancy really is a breeze at the moment. No tiredness, no sickness, nothing really. If it wasn’t for the odd twinge if I get up too suddenly or lift something too heavy, I’d hardly notice I’m pregnant. Well that and the lack of wine!

At this stage on Little Man I was getting regular firm little kicks. But on this one all I get is the occasional tickle or flutter. Different baby I guess, but it also must be the anterior placenta. Last time it was posterior, leaving me wide open for every poke, prod, and kick!

No doubt in a few weeks time, I’ll be complaining that I can’t get a wink of sleep because a certain baby won’t stop kicking me in the ribs! It’s just that there is something about those little baby wriggles and rolls and kicks that makes you feel more connected to the baby. Well that’s how it was for me last time anyway.

The faint flutters are getting more insistent and sometimes I feel like I’m being tickled from the inside out, the flutters are so feathery light! So maybe in the next week or two, the kicks will start.

  1. I’ve got an anterior placenta too and am definitely feeling less activity. I didn’t feel baby move at all till about 22 weeks which us very late, especially for a second baby. The kicks are stronger now (27 weeks), my partner felt them for first time the other day. But I definitely think the placenta position made them much fainter in those earlier weeks.

    • It’s very strange. But I’m almost 22 weeks now and starting to feel a bit. A few kicks a day. But nothing strong.

  2. Glad to hear your having no bother so far. Exciting times ahead!
