Just two more days!

Just two more days!

I’m gutted. For weeks now I’ve had today’s date marked in my calendar. It was to be a special treat for me – an evening out with Charlie at home putting the kids to bed, and better still I was going to see the premiere of the first two episodes of Orange is the New Black when Netflix screened them in the Lighthouse Cinema in Smithfield.

But I’ve been feeling unwell since the weekend, and at 3pm today I just had to admit to myself that the only place I was going after work was home to bed. No early sneak peeks for me. Or so I thought.

When I sent my apologies to Netflix for cancelling at the last minute, as well as responding with wishes for a speedy recovery, I got a link to the previews so that I could watch them from home. Suddenly I don’t feel so bad anymore.

So now I’m tucked up in bed ready to watch the first episode of Season 2 of my favourite show from last year. Since I finished watching Orange is the New Black while on maternity leave last year, I’ve been waiting impatiently for the release of Season 2. And now it’s here – for me at least. The rest of you will have to wait until the 6th of June. But the good news is that’s only 2 days away – and I promise no spoilers in the meantime!

  1. That was really nice of Netflix! Probably not as much fun as a night out, but just what you needed instead!

    • I’m pretty certain they made the link available to the whole stream team and a whole pile of journalists besides but it was definitely good timing for me. 🙂

  2. Good call Netflix! Hope you get well soon.

  3. Nice one! Hope you start feeling better soon. I really must check out Season 1, everyone is raving about this show – may as well try a new show while on maternity leave!

  4. Hallelujah. Definitely not the same as a night out, but a pretty good second.
Is is terrible to say I’ve never heard of this show, but then as my kids say we have poverty TV.
